President Foundation commemorated the 72nd Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia that was marked on August 17th, 2017 with a ceremony that was held in front of the University’s building. Attended the ceremony, there were approximately 1000 people from various backgrounds in President University Foundation, ranging from University, President Senior and Junior High School, President Elementary School, and President Special Needs Center. Also attended the event, the employees of Jababeka Infrastructure, Jababeka Golf and Outbond, and Jababeka Security Corps.
The ceremony was conducted with a great solemn, accompanied by national songs from the President Senior High School choirs. A recorded of proclamation text spoken by the first president of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno, which was played at the proclamation moments added sacred atmosphere to the ceremony as well as a reminder for the future generations with the struggle of the national heroes in maintaining the unity in Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Susilo Soepandji (Chairperson of President University Foundation) as the Inspector of the ceremony, on his speech, said that since the 7th decade of the Indonesia Independency, the country already became a great nation that succeeds in developing economic, social, and politics. This gratitude is actualized with Indonesia “Kerja Bersama” to realize the sovereign, independent, great personality, and mutual based cooperation.
“We have to focus to build an anti-plagiarism culture and a scientific culture that produces innovative works, with the ideals to build a clean campus that free from the corruption, drugs, and the ideology of radicalism”, stated Prof. Budi in his speech.
Furthermore, he explained that the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic Indonesia (Kemenristekdikti) has set goals and strategies for the year 2019 to improve the quality and quantity of highly educated human resources and also the ability of science, technology, and innovation for the primacy of nation’s competitiveness.
“I believe that with hard work we can achieve these goals and strategies. We could start from ourselves and the environment”, said Prof. Budi.
